What we do
For more than 4 years, Toast.it has been developing applications for the UK market. In the last year, we expanded our services to the European market as well.
We have specialized in e-commerce solutions based on the eToaster platform, customized retail systems, backoffice applications and service oriented applications.

Technology
We have based most of our systems on the excellent middleware provided by the ObjectWeb consortium — a community project supported by many big companies and organizations like Bull, RedHat, France Telecom and INRIA.
Although being J2EE centric we keep our eyes open and try to aim to use the right tool for the job. We have implemented already implemented some projects in .NET and PHP/MySQL.
Component Based Development
A principle we follow in our applications is the Component Based approach. Although widely regarded as the best programming pattern, the Object Oriented techniques have some drawbacks quite noticeable in the heterogenic world of web applications. Every application we do is based
on reusable, replaceable components that can be fine–tuned for the particular problem.
